We could still play Appalachia in football so that rivalry is still in tact. I would think the CMD would take us, we usually draw pretty good and all of those schools are within short distance of us.

Point CMD has the clear edge in most sports

First I've heard of that but you could be right. From everything I can remember Coeburn wanted out because they couldn't win in anything. I feel like the move has killed Coeburn, they griped that Gate City and to a lesser extent PV and JJK were abusing smaller schools. To me, Coeburn has done the same thing by going to the Cumberland to beat up on Ervinton, Thomas Walker, Rye Cove, and the like. I'm all for us leaving the LPD but I don't think it will happen.

Well you won't have to worry about this for long apparently. The Coalfield just twittered that the 3 in 1 plan has been approved by the SB according to a friend of mine.

I've said it on here enough but that is the dumbest idea ever. Every person on the school board and board of supervisors need to be voted out. Just build one school and quit worrying about athletics.

Wise County, Virginia: The laughing stock of the United States

3 schools on one site outside of the county
Votes bought for tobacco and snacks
No jobs, no industry, no technology, and no education
An increasing drug problem that lands people back on the streets
No incentive for people who love the area and want to work to stay

Lee won the first Battle of the Boot, would be nice to win the last one also, haha. While Lee-PV would end, I'd hope the game against the new school would continue the same though.

And just curious, do you think Lee will pick up some more of the "border" students, those who live in the Dryden, Keokee, Seminary, Lee/Wise line area, with this 3 in 1 school deal going through, or are they most still like some Appy faithful and against those so called "bad" consolidated schools and go elsewhere, if not to the new school.

I don't have access to Wise County's tv services, but I have heard that Perry's plan that is layed out on TV makes a lot of sense when you look at it. I don't know if that true or not since I haven't seen it. Who knows maybe it will be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

For the kids sake I hope it is. However, when you know that a plan like this passed because certain people want "Coeburn, Big Stone Gap, and Wise to hurt like Pound, Appalachia, and St. Paul hurt" you know that something is wrong. FWIW, I am convinced that Dr. Perry is the only person on either board that has a clue. They should have went with his original plan to build three schools on three sites.

Which school would you play? Last I heard PV and St. Paul were combining.
